On Sunday 28 June at Letters And Numbers we continue the Cawcus public talks programme with comics readings and artist presentations💥 Schedule for Sunday, 28 June: 🏔️ We begin at 13.30 with Nica Harrison, who will present a selection of her printmaking, animation and comics projects. In The Garden is the first instalment of Anima Mundi, a project exploring interspecies communication between humans, plants, fungi, and minerals. In The Garden gathers twelve artists to explore entheogenic plants and their potential to expand consciousness, and uses Risograph printing to create both comics and animation. Re-Mind combines traditional intaglio printmaking and 2D animation, and tells the story of an ordinarily rational biologist Al turns to the occult in a desperate act to win back her estranged partner. The ritual turns into a revelation when the summoned deity unearths the deep-rooted fluidity of Al’s identity and desire. 🏔️ Our second talk at 15.00, welcomes Vana Rezian from Waraq, a community space in Beirut, Lebanon, that supports graphic artists and designers through facilities and support in silkscreen, Risograph, drypoint etching and digital printmaking, and well as bookmaking. Founded in 2012, Waraq is committed to encouraging education, research, production and publishing. 🏔️ At 16.30, we conclude with a presentation of the comics course at Invisible Friends school in Yerevan, with live comic readings from graduating students: Asya Novikova-Emin - No One’s Bucket, Eva…
